Nicole and Eric have the most romantic love story. Seven years ago, on New Year’s Eve, he walked right up to Nicole and called her by the wrong name! Nevertheless, she was taken by his endearing personality, and when they met up again (and he used her correct name), everything else fell into place. Despite their hilarious beginning, these two were clearly meant to be. They have no problem dancing like no one’s watching and singing along to every song that comes on.
Eric planned the most romantic proposal at the PA Market on the Strip, one of their most meaningful locations in the city. After waiting out the pandemic, they knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding day. Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Pittsburgh was the perfect venue for their moody glam vision, and what an honor it was to document their long-awaited marriage celebration! If you’re looking for Pittsburgh wedding venues, this is definitely one you need to see.
The First Look
While Nicole and Eric had a vision for décor and style, they weren’t quite sure whether to do a first look or not. Nicole knew the first look with Dad had to happen—you can see why! Cue the tears. But they didn’t know if they should break tradition for a couple’s first look:
“Two favorite moments come to mind when thinking about our day. Our first look was one of them. Let me tell you how happy we were that we ended up doing one! At the beginning I was against it but after talking with Mariah we decided to do one. Let me tell you, do the first look! Our timeline went much smoother and we got to take in those moments right before our ceremony, just the two of us. Our second favorite moment was dancing all night long. Eric and I love music and we’re the ones that know the lyrics to practically every song. We promised each other that we would be on the dancefloor all night to celebrate our marriage.”-Nicole, Bride

“Soldiers and Sailors’ beauty speaks for itself. I knew before we got engaged that I wanted my wedding to be here. The bold and dramatic elegance of the building and the ballroom made my romantic boho vision come to life. The wedding had hints of dusty purples with lots of fresh greenery. We wanted a very romantic feel with tons of candlelight and gold accents. Playing on the moodiness of a December winter wedding (even though it ended up being 60 degrees!) and the simple yet sophisticated color scheme of Soldiers and Sailors was the perfect combination that allowed our vision to come through.”-Nicole, Bride
