When the pandemic puts a hold on your wedding, you do it up right when the time comes! This incredible couple has been together for almost five years. They got engaged on a ski trip in New York, and after postponing their wedding twice due to COVID, Brittany and Daniel were finally able to have their dream wedding in Pittsburgh! They wanted an all-inclusive wedding venue so they could relax and enjoy the celebration with loved ones.

The Grand Hall at the Priory was the most romantic all-inclusive wedding venue for their grand affair, featuring elegant arches, impressive columns, and ornate golden accents and stained-glass windows. Yet the courtyard is perfect for an intimate and welcoming cocktail reception, complete with string lights, of course. Everything about their wedding day was everything they had hoped for and more, and it was an honor to photograph it all for them.

Most Memorable Moments

Brittany and Daniel decided to do a first look before the ceremony to give them some time alone. Normally, people look to the groom’s reaction (and Daniel’s didn’t disappoint), but Brittany’s reaction during their first look is just as sweet!

The bride’s father passed away a few years ago, so Brittany and her mother surprised their guests with a dance to “Memories” by Maroon 5. They also included a picture slideshow on a projector for everyone to enjoy. It was such a sweet and meaningful moment for all their friends and family.

Having a first look really helped the wedding timeline because we were able to get photos in advance so the newlyweds could have a more relaxed reception. Many couples choose to do this so that they are able to focus more of their time on friends and family after the wedding ceremony.

#CoupleGoals

Brittany and Daniel wanted their wedding photos to display a fun, classy look that reflected both of their personalities. Their goal was to capture the romance and authentic moments of the evening with candid shots. It was important to show the couple’s playfulness and excitement about the biggest day of their lives. Brittany noted that the trend in wedding photography today reminds her of senior portraits, but they preferred to have more authentic photos that didn’t appear staged with props.

You got it! My photography style tends to lean toward elegant photojournalistic photos with lots of movement—like the perfect snapshot from your favorite video clip—so we were a great fit style-wise! I love when couples know they want in their photos because then I can make sure I capture that for them. For instance, do you prefer more traditional portraits or a good mix of candid shots and a few portraits here and there? Feel free to check out our work for inspiration and ideas for your own photoshoot or wedding.

Brittany and Daniel said that their favorite moments of the day were their first look, the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and celebrating with all of their friends and family.
