Daicee + Alex’s Snowy Colorado Engagement Photos

I had a blast photographing Daicee and Alex’s snowy engagement session, and I can’t wait to shoot their Colorado wedding next year! Their winter wonderland session among the pines provided the inspiration for today’s post, which features some of the best locations for Colorado engagement photos. Snowy Backdrop: Loveland Pass | Near Keystone, CO

Daicee and Alex wanted romantic photos in the snow. With its high altitude, Loveland Pass often gets snow much sooner than other parts of the state. We found this quiet spot to catch clear views without the piercing wind. It’s truly a sight to behold up there! They were able to dance, play, and snuggle to their hearts’ content! I’m in love with how their photos turned out.

*Due to its high altitude and hairpin turns, Loveland Pass often closes in the winter months.

Romantic Overlook: Sapphire Point | Near Breckenridge, CO

I’ve made my way around many national parks, and Sapphire Point between Keystone and Breckenridge is still one of my very favorite spots to take in Mother Nature’s astounding beauty. This overlook in White River National Forest features clear views of the mountains and overlooks the sparkling Dillon Reservoir. Sapphire Point is a favorite spot for proposals and elopements. Just imagine listening to the tall pines sway – so peaceful!

Historic Location: Mesa Verde National Park | Cortez, CO

It’s amazing how these cliff dwellings constructed by the Ancestral Pueblo people have weathered the elements after all these years. Mesa Verde National Park displays miles of layered red rock cliffs and tall pines. Watching the clouds roll in over the mesas is an experience I’ll never forget – and you won’t either! Unique Landscape: Garden of the Gods | Colorado Springs, CO

Garden of the Gods is not so much a garden as it is a towering natural sandstone masterpiece. From far away, it looks like a mythical city. The climate is a bit milder here, and the trails are easy to moderate, but you still get incredible views.

Panoramic Mountain Views: Gunnison National Park’s Black Canyon

Over the years, the Gunnison River has carved a steep gorge through the rock to create the park’s famous Black Canyon. From the top, you can see deer, elk, moose, or even an occasional bear by the river below. When you look out, the views feature western Colorado’s striated cliffsides and tall rock spires. Bring your hiking boots for this one!

Stunning Year-Round Views: Aspen, CO

Aspen has it all: vibrant fall foliage, snowy winter peaks, and a charming town to explore. Aspen is the perfect spot for an extended Colorado elopement and honeymoon. Be sure to check out the Maroon Bells twin peaks that tower behind a glassy pond.

Locations with Waterfalls: Telluride, Seven Falls, Rocky Mountain National Park

You can find waterfalls galore as you hike the trails of Colorado. However, some of my favorites – and most accessible – are Bridal Veil Falls in Telluride, the Broadmoor Resort & Seven Falls, and Rocky Mountain National Park.
