Jennifer and Tommy’s high-fashion vibe brought this romantic, Victorian-style wedding venue to life! Every detail fell into place beautifully, from the bride’s stunning white-lace gown and overflowing floral arrangements to the groom’s sharp tux and the immaculate vintage car. The couple wanted a romantic, editorial style, and that’s exactly what they got. These two were equally kind, trusting, and laid back, which made executing these images even easier. They knew what they wanted and trusted me to deliver.
Location is everything when it comes to editorial wedding photography. You can have all the gorgeous wedding party attire and hit all the poses, but if the venue doesn’t play into the theme, it may not provide the overall look you want. As your Pittsburgh wedding photographer, I’d love to recommend a few local venues to enhance your theme or wedding style. Furthermore, the built-in ambiance, architecture, and décor will mean less design work for you or your wedding planner.
Jennifer and Tommy knew right away The Mansions on Fifth Hotel would provide the perfect canvas for their classic and sophisticated wedding. Not only was the Shadyside wedding venue a few blocks away from their ceremony location at Sacred Heart Church, but it also features breathtaking architecture, rich history, and all-inclusive wedding packages. They were both able to get ready at the reception venue, which cut out time and gave them a consistent photo style and backdrop.Â
Upon arrival, stone steps and lush landscaping lead up to the impressive castle-style mansion featuring beautiful leaded windows. The mansion’s polished wood floors, intricate woodwork and walnut paneling, and light walls add elegance and warmth.Â
It’s rare to find historic venues with such amazing light. The Mansions on Fifth feature walls of windows in every room, allowing plenty of natural light to brighten the space. We took tons of photos inside the church and the reception venue, and both offered gorgeous lighting via oversized windows and ornate stained glass.
Located in Pittsburgh’s historic district, this venue has quite a story. From a prestigious attorney’s mansion on Millionaire’s Row to private student housing during the Great Depression and eventually flawless renovation after a destructive fire, the hotel’s story continues today as a luxury boutique hotel and event venue.
The historic venue still showcases the original architecture and similar furnishings and artwork of the Gilded Age when Carnegie, Frick, Heinz, and Mellon were busy shaping Pittsburgh into what it is today. The Mansions on Fifth takes you back in time and offers inviting luxury.
Renovated with hospitality in mind, Mansions on Fifth offers three wedding package tiers and seasonal décor and package add-ons.Â
I especially love the variety of spaces at this venue. Mansions on Fifth is ideal for weddings with 20-180 guests, and you can utilize a variety of rooms. In tune with the mansion’s history, the venue still feels like an elegant home rather than a large event space. Mansion rooms include:
I also want to give a huge shout-out to the entire vendor team—each crucial member was a dream to work with!
