Wow! Isn’t this couple just stunning? And they were just as sweet! Matt and Elise chose to celebrate their love and tie the knot with an intimate elopement in Colorado. Their timing couldn’t have been more perfect. At the time of their session, winter hadn’t set in with full force. There weren’t many tourists since it was in between summer and ski season. We had this incredible mountain lakeside backdrop all to ourselves!
For couples looking for smaller crowds and gorgeous foliage, early fall is a gorgeous time (although I enjoy every season on the trails). Instead of a huge wedding – and due to the ongoing pandemic – an adventurous ceremony was just what Matt and Elise needed. They plan to have a larger celebration with friends and family when it’s safe to do, but they just couldn’t put their wedding on hold any longer. They chose to make 2020 the best year yet by beginning their story as husband and wife with a grand adventure!
I would describe Matt and Elise’s elopement as “effortlessly elegant.” Her burgundy lace dress from the Flutter Dress Shop looked like it was custom made for Elise – I would say that’s her color! The bride’s eyes and hair looked striking in these photos, and the breeze added so much life to each image, catching her dress and lifting the lace. We had so much fun! To complete the look, Elise carried a beautiful hand-tied bridal bouquet from Holly Hanna Floral in my hometown – or home base, as I like to call it since I’m always traveling. (I can attest to their outstanding quality and service and often recommend this charming boutique florist to couples. Plus, you can shop by style and theme for inspiration – so cool!)
My two passions in life involve exploration and photography. As a Colorado elopement photographer, I am always searching for beautiful backdrops that nature provides so that couples can have extraordinary photography experiences. There’s nothing better than taking couples to a breathtaking location I’ve found off the beaten path and watching their faces light up with excitement. I believe that nature brings out the best in us, and I enjoy documenting it. I’d love to be your adventure photographer!
