The pandemic has impacted the wedding industry drastically – both couples and wedding vendors have had to make some big adjustments. Although dealing with date changes and pandemic protocols is less than ideal, not all changes have been bad. Many couples decided to embrace the spontaneity and really focus on what matters most – their commitment and love for each other.
Instead of large traditional weddings, many couples are opting for unique outdoor venues, adventurous elopement locations, and intimate celebrations. Not that the design details aren’t important (I’m in love with Bridgit and Connor’s modern wedding design), but the smaller gatherings and more intimate settings remind us to cherish loved ones above all else. Even if plans change, the people are what make the day special. These two had the most gorgeous lakeside wedding at the Courtyard by Marriott Erie Bayfront.
Soon after their engagement, Bridgit and Connor found themselves trying to plan their wedding in an ever-changing pandemic situation. But they made it work! They decided to have a small lakeside wedding ceremony and reception at the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel, one of my favorite Lake Erie wedding venues. The location could not have been more beautiful.
As far as Lake Erie wedding venues go, this is one of the best! We had unobstructed views of the sparkling lake with sailboats floating across the backdrop. Then, their al fresco open-deck reception let us get tons of photos by the water all afternoon long. The groomsmen even had the opportunity to take some fun shots aboard a yacht. (Way to nail the Titanic pose, guys!)
Before heading over to the reception to celebrate, the happy couple took a few moments to enjoy the garden and courtyard area, perfect for their magazine-worthy couple’s portraits.
The setup with simple yet sophisticated. Modern yet classic. The greenery paired with white and gold made for a timeless color combination, and the geometric table décor and centerpieces complemented the venue’s modern design and clean look. Gorgeous!!
Plus, the Sheraton patio has some cozy patio seating around gas fireplaces that make it easy to enjoy each other’s company under the stars. The pandemic had nothing on this couple’s wedding plans, and it ended up being a huge success! Cheers to the newlyweds!
