Chelsea + Tyler’s Vail Elopement

I had such a hard time choosing which photos to highlight from this gorgeous Vail, Colorado elopement. It deserves more than a sneak peek. So, you’re getting an extra dose of awesome – hope you enjoy these photos from Chelsea and Tyler’s wilderness ceremony as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Chelsea and Tyler met in college, so this day has been a few years in the making. They knew right away that their friendship was destined for more. These two have been adventure buddies and soul mates ever since! No one was surprised when they chose a Colorado elopement – it fit their style perfectly. To include their friends and family in this huge milestone, they’re throwing a celebration with their loved ones later on!

In fact, these two love the mountains so much they decided to move here together for endless adventures (I’m a bit jealous). It’s not hard to see that they are one of the sweetest, most in love couples I’ve ever worked with.

Best Locations for Colorado Elopements

Piney River Ranch, Vail, Colorado

Colorado has so many scenic locations for mountain elopements that it’s hard to pick, but Piney River Ranch is one of my favorites for intimate elopements. It offers spectacular views, untouched trails, and a shaded picnic area by the lake for cake and bubbles (and they have full catering services!). You get the full Vail elopement experience without having to trek too far in wedding attire. Plus, it’s much more private than other well-known spots.

First, we shot gorgeous photos of their secluded ceremony in the Vail forest followed by bride and groom portraits. Then, we checked out the lake with mountain views near Piney River Ranch. We were able to get quite a few photos, but Chelsea and Tyler also had lots of time to relish in the moment. They danced, enjoyed the views, and just hung out together. It worked out wonderfully since they were staying in a cabin for their romantic getaway. We all laughed as they went old school and brought the boom box out of the cabin for a first dance as husband and wife by the water.

After the sunset elopement, we wound down for a while and sipped on some wine while talking about life. It was an incredible time. We all enjoyed this laid-back day full of happiness. They love nature, beautiful scenery, and each other, so this was the perfect spot.
